What’s new with you this week?  I HAVE ANNOUNCEMENT, after almost six months since the giant layoff last fall, I have a job!  No, that’s not right, I have 2 jobs!!!

  I agreed last week to go to work for a friend of mine at a floral shop at least part-time through Mother’s Day.  I was a floral designer many years ago when my kids were young, but not used to standing on my feet all day long, I wondered how I would manage.

Then not more than an hour after signing all the tons of paperwork, I received a call from another friend.  This time it was a part-time job at an attorney’s office, something that I have done for years and knew the firm.  I got both of them.  You can’t keep a good woman down, and it pays to have friends, emotionally and financially.

  I start with the law office this week working afternoons.  However, I am going to begin working for the florist part-time also for a month.

I am really excited to be back at work.  I look forward to just settling into the Monday through Friday afternoon schedule, but could not back out of the florist job with Mother’s Day looming.  Been there, done that.

If you need me, I’ll be at one of my two jobs, but I won’t be sitting on the love seat writing as much as I have been.  My latest novel is still only a little over half-finished but picking up speed.  But, don’t worry ladies of the Enid Writers’ Club; I am still going to the OWFI convention.  I got that on the books first thing.  Hope to see you there.
